An explosion at a Jacksonville plant prompted the evacuation of nearby homes Monday morning.

Officials say the explosion released Krypton gas, a low-level radioactive material. More than 70 people went through the decontamination process after being exposed to the radiation .

Emergency workers said the radiation release only affected areas inside the building. A fire official said the radiation level was the same level of X-rays, adding that it's "not a life or death situation."

Another person is being treated at a local hospital for injuries received during the explosion.

Nearby streets were blocked off by police. Unison Industries makes aviation parts.
