KS faces flash floods

Northeast Kansas was coping with flash flooding on Sunday after 12 inches of rain deluged the area.

Northeast Kansas was coping with flash flooding on Sunday after 12 inches of rain deluged the area.

Emergency management officials from both Jefferson and Jackson counties reported an unknown number of people rescued from their homes and cars, with others still stranded on Sunday afternoon.

A shelter was opened in a church in Oskaloosa.
