Gunman opens fire at MO plant

At least one person was injured when a former employee opened fire at a conveyor belt factory in Earth City, Mo., on Thursday afternoon.

At least one person was injured when a former employee opened fire at a conveyor belt factory in Earth City, Mo., on Thursday afternoon.

The shooting happened at Beltservice Corp., west of St. Louis. About 110 employees were evacuated.

Company officials said they believed the man had either left the company or been fired one year ago.

The shooting happened during a shift change.

Police had barricaded several blocks around the plant while they attempted to apprehend the man.

The company manufactures industrial conveyor belts.
