A gunman shot and killed five people at a Kansas City meatpacking plant Friday around 5 p.m., according to police reports.

An employee of ConAgra Foods Inc. walked into the cafeteria, fired shots, then shot and killed himself.

Two others were injured and were being treated at the University of Kansas Hospital.

Investigators were still working inside the building Saturday morning. Police reports said more than one weapon was used, and police were trying to determine a motive.

Some employees reported that the gunman had a conflict with his fellow employees earlier in the week. ConAgra reported it was going to make counselors available at the work site. There were some 160 people working at the plant when the shooting happened.
