A collision in Georgia involving two school buses sent 43 people to the hospital, the Georgia State Patrol said.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said the crash took place outside of Rocky Plains Elementary School in Covington Tuesday.
Fifty-three students and adults were on board the buses.
Georgia State Patrol officials said the first bus slowed as the driver stopped to unload a child when the second bus rammed into it.
Most of the students suffered bumps and bruises, while some had concussions, a chipped tooth and sore legs.
The driver who caused the crash, who may be cited for following too closely, she suffered a broken sternum, a family member said.
