Air pollutants spark AZ warning

Residents with respiratory challenges asked to limit outdoor activities

PHOENIX, AZ | April 19, 2012

Arizona health officials extended a air quality warning through Friday for the Phoenix area.

Warning that ozone and air pollutions levels were expected to approach the maximum federal health standard, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) said people with respiratory or other health problems were advised to limit their outdoor activities.

The Ozone Health Watch was issued for Maricopa County and the surrounding area.
