An Ohio girl was in critical condition Friday, the day after her father opened fire at a restaurant, killing her mother and sister before police killed him.
A worker at the Cracker Barrel restaurant in Brooklyn said the shooting occurred when the Allen family of Strongville gathered to celebrate the 10th birthday of Keri Allen, who died along with her 42-year-old mother, Kate. Kayla Allen, also 10, was hospitalized in critical condition with a gunshot wound inflicted by her father as well.
After shooting the three, Kevin Allen, 51, was shot to death by police, WEWS-TV, Cleveland, reported.
A police report stated Kevin and Kate Allen had argued Easter Sunday and she had left with the children to stay at a friend's house. The report said he got angry when she told him at the restaurant she was going to leave him. He then circled the parking lot in his car, waiting for her to leave.
As police arrived, the TV station said, Kevin Allen entered the restaurant with a rifle and shot his wife and daughters. Officers said they then shot him several times after he refused to surrender.
