State and federal fire officials completed an investigation of a Texas school fire Wednesday. Officials determined the fire to be intentionally set.
The National Response Team of the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) agency was activated after a request from the Rio Grande City Fire Department to investigate a fire at Fort Ringgold Middle School. The fire started on January 13 in the newly remodeled school. 20 agents and special inspectors are participating in the response.
Officials estimated damage to the building around $9 million. Authorities are not releasing additional information on the investigation at this time.
