Earthquake rattles N. California

Emergency officials report no initial reports of damage north of Sacramento

QUINCY, CA | December 26, 2008


Residents of this northern Califonia community said they felt a short, rolling earthquake early Friday morning, but no damage was immediately reported.

The 4.5 magnitude quake, classified as light by the U.S. Geological Survey, hit before 5 AM local time. It was located about 4 miles ENE of this town and approximately 102 miles from Sacramento. The quake was felt over a wide area of the Pacific coast.
