Thousands flee Argentina floods

Argentina just latest South American country to experience serious flooding

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA | March 2, 2008


As many as 2,000 residents of the province of Buenos Aires were evacuated from their homes Sunday as heavy rain continued in this South American country. More rain is predicted for this week.

The past month has seen severe flooding in a number of South American countries. At least 16 people have died in flood-related incidents in Peru and thousands were forced from their homes in Ecuador.
