A tornado damaged more than 40 homes Wednesday in one southwestern Florida community rocked by Hurricane Charley two years ago.
The tornado hit Wednesday night around 7:30 p.m. County emergency officials estimate at least 42 homes in two Port Charlotte mobile home parks suffered major and minor damage, but that number could rise as they continue their assessments.
A few minor injuries were reported.
Charlotte County was devastated by Hurricane Charley during the 2004 hurricane season. Local news stations report that many tornado-affected residents were ones who just finished repairing their damages done by Charley.
