Severe storms spawned tornadoes across southern Wisconsin on Sunday. One twister ripped through the town of Hartford - home to 8,200 people - some 25 miles northwest of Milwaukee.

The south side of the town took the worst of the damage.

An elementary school and a hotel were damaged, according to the National Weather Service, as well as an unknown number of homes. About 100 people were without power.

Several minor injuries were reported but there were no fatalities.

A rest station was set up in the Rossman Elementary School for residents who wanted food and beverages.
