Severe storms ripped through Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana on Thursday and Friday.
Heavy rain, golf ball-size hail and 60-mph winds moved rapidly across the region. Several people were presumed dead and at least half a dozen others were missing.
Flash flooding hit creeks and rivers through the region, sweeping people away. At least one suspected tornado touched down in Indiana.
Pockets of localized damage stretched from Tennessee to Michigan. The storms were moving east through New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland by Friday afternoon.
