Storms battering Midwest

Severe storms swept through Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska late Thursday and into Friday, injuring at least four people and destroying homes.

Severe storms swept through Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska late Thursday and into Friday, injuring at least four people and destroying homes.

The storms spawned tornadoes, high wind and hail.

Firm damage reports were unavailable Friday morning since the severe weather continued. But at least four homes were destroyed in Fillmore, Mo., according to Federal Emergency Management Agency reports. An additional home was leveled in Woodbury, Iowa.

In Kansas, eastern parts of Hutchinson reported a tornado but there was little residential damage there.

A twister was a also spotted in Sedalia, Kansas, which was devastated this month by a March 12 twister that damaged or destroyed more than 100 homes.
