Tropical Storm Bret hit Mexico's Gulf Coast on Wednesday. The storm made landfall around Tuxpan early Wednesday morning, and had weakened to a tropical depression by the afternoon as it moved over rugged terrain.

Some communities saw flooding and forecasters issued flood warnings for many areas, and some people were evacuated. Up to seven inches of rain could hit some areas.

Bret, the second named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, formed on Tuesday.
