Hurricane Fabian, a dangerous Category 4 hurricane, kept strengthening Monday, churning through the Atlantic, but it was too early for forecasters to say whether it would threaten the United States.

By Monday morning, Fabian had maximum sustained winds of 140 mph and was still several days away from landfall.
