Tornado roars through China

Southern China's Guangdong province faced tornado damage over the weekend after a twister tore through the area, killing two people and injuring another 300, according to government reports.

Strong straight-line winds, heavy rain, and hail also battered the region.

Zhanjian was the worst hit city.

In other international disaster news, storms inundated Lebanon and Jordan, flooding homes and damaging roads. A seven-foot wall of water cascaded over homes in Lebanon, according to civil defense reports.

In Jordan, police were rescuing stranded motorists, and dozens of residents in Amman were forced to evacuate.

In Egypt, uncommonly heavy rain forced flight cancellations at Cairo International Airport.
