An explosion and large fire occurred amid a group of chemical plants in the port city of Haifa Tuesday.

Addressing concerns that the explosion was an attack of some sort, fire officials said they believed it was caused by an accident.

The explosion happened at a chemical fertilizer factory, where three warehouses burned.

Firefighters across northern Israel helped gain control over the flames and kept them from spreading to other nearby plants and oil refineries.
